Short black scene hairstyles are a mix of modern gothic and 1980’s punk looks. Scene style is known for being edgy, wild, fun and bold. Many colors can be used for the look, but black is a great base hue to begin with. Black scene styles are often paired with colored streaks and/or tips.

Scene Hairstyles
A classic short and black scene hairstyle is a Mohawk. The style can be done in one of two ways. The sides of the head can be shaved, leaving a short strip of hair at the middle of the head. This strip can then be spiked up using gel. You can also cut the sides short, leaving a longer strip of hair in the middle of the head. Use gel to sweep the hair at the sides of your head upwards. Use a little more gel to spike up the middle strip of hair.

If you have straight or slightly wavy hair, get a pixie scene hairstyle. The pixie style cuts the hair across the head very short, usually just a few inches in length. The look is heavily layered and usually paired with short bangs. You can use gel to sweep the layers towards your face for a sexy feel, or spike the layers outwards for a wilder look. Use brightly colored hair accessories like a hot pink headband for a feminine touch.

Shag cuts work wonderfully for a curly or straight scene hairstyle. A shag is a very choppy cut with heavy layering. A short shag is cut at about earlobe length and there are be no bangs, just chunky layering. Use gel to help create spiky tips in each slice of layering. Sweep the bangs to the side to reveal one eye. Leave the hair partially obstructing the other eye. If you want to create a little volume, try using some mousse or hairspray at your hair’s roots.

A half-shaved scene hairstyle looks exactly like it sounds. The hair on one side of the head is cut or shaved very short while the hair on the other side of the head is left about chin length. The halfway mark between the two lengths can start at your natural part or be rigidly set at the exact middle of your head. The longer hair can be left to hang down or you can use a little gel to spike it up.

If you want a really wild scene hairstyle, try an angled cut. Cut the hair at the back of the head in a heavy angle, with one side longer than the other. Cut the bangs in the exact same way, with one side longer than the other. Make sure the long bangs match up with the long hair at the side of the head. Go crazy with gel and hairspray to spike the shorter hair and leave the longer hair hanging loose.
