Blonde Medium Length Layered Haircuts for Girls
By Angela Neal, eHow Contributor
If you have blond hair, there are a variety of different medium-length, layered haircuts that will complement and add even more dimension to your hair color. Blond is an eye-catching color and you should pick a cut that will emphasize those different facets with layers. Medium length is also a good choice because it is easier to style and care for than long hair, especially if your hair is chemically processed.

Straight and Thinned
If you have hair that is on the thick side and you want to show different layers of blond shades, consider the straight and thinned look. You should wait at least two weeks if you’ve just had your hair chemically processed or bleached before you apply any kind of heat styling, because this will cause breakage and further damage. You should also use a thermal protecting spray before applying heat. Ask your hairdresser to give you layers and thin the ends so they will reveal more of the layers and colors on the lower layers.
Shaggy Layers
A solid color throughout your hair is most appropriate for a medium-length cut with lots of short, dramatic layers for more interest. This is also one of the edgier and more extreme looks and is more popular with younger women. A shaggy cut will make wavy hair more manageable but can also be styled straight. If you have very tight curls, however, it can make you look like a poodle. If you have the top layers very short, you can tease toward the scalp for more volume or even spike it. Remember that the more layers you have in your hair, the harder it will be to put in a ponytail.
Chin Length
The chin length, layered cut for blond hair is flattering and works well for anyone of any age depending on how it is layered. Let your bottom layers graze your shoulders and have shorter layers graduate up to your jawline. This is a softer look and will emphasize any highlights or lowlights you may have. If you are daring, you can have a few small pieces on each side of your head much longer than the rest of your hair for an edgy, “hipster” look.
Layered Bangs
Face-framing layers and bangs are flattering, help show off your color, and are easily incorporated into any medium-length blond haircut to add more interest and style. How short and thick they are is up to you and depends on what looks best on you. Go longer and softer if you are older or have a round face. The side-swept bangs will further emphasize the brightness and dimensions in your blond hair.
Geometric Layers
The stark look of geometric layers isn’t for everyone. You either need to already have straight hair that will hold the shape of the layers, or you will need to do a lot of styling everyday to get it straight. The layers for this cut are very defined and blunt but will look good with any color of blond or highlights. Even different sections with different shades of blond will work for this cut, since it is already unnatural and wild looking.
